Top 10 Foods for Healthy Hair – Part 1
Top 5 of 10 Foods for Healthy Hair
If you’re like me it’s not always easy to incorporate good healthy eating habits into your daily busy schedule. However, it is true and many doctors and nutritionists agree that healthy hair begins with what we put into our bodies. That doesn’t mean that you should stop your regular hair care practices of shampooing, conditioning, etc. But, it is important to start living and eating healthy! I’m definitely trying and most days are better than others. I definitely notice the difference in my hair when I’m eating right and exercising. I have compiled a list of foods that many doctors believe promote healthy hair.
1) Salmon: contains omega-3 fatty acids, iron, and vitamin B-12 (promotes sheen and reduces dryness)
2) Dark Green Vegetables (spinach, broccoli, etc.): contain vitamins A and C. These vitamins aid in creating the sebum that is produced in the hair (keeping the hair conditioned).
3) Beans (legumes such as kidney beans, lentils, etc.): yep, growing up we were told they’re good for your heart! But they’re also great for the hair! Provide protein, iron, zinc and biotin.
4) Eggs: great source of protein but also provide biotin and vitamin B-12
5) Carrots: provide Vitamin A and promotes a healthy scalp
