However, it is true and many doctors and nutritionists agree that healthy hair begins with what we put into our bodies. That doesn’t mean that you should stop your regular hair care practices of shampooing, conditioning, etc. But, it is important to start living and eating healthy! I’m definitely trying and most days are better than others. I definitely notice the difference in my hair when I’m eating right and exercising. I have compiled a list of foods that many doctors believe promote healthy hair. 1) Salmon: contains omega-3 fatty acids, iron, and vitamin B-12 (promotes sheen and reduces dryness) 2) Dark Green Vegetables (spinach, broccoli, etc.): contain vitamins A and C. These vitamins aid in creating the sebum that is produced in the hair (keeping the hair conditioned). 3) Beans (legumes such as kidney beans, lentils, etc.): yep, growing up we were told they’re good for your heart!
