Protective Styling Using Small Rollers
Protective styling was very instrumental for me in growing healthy fine hair. In the summer I love wearing roller-sets with a tight curl. This gives an appearance of a short curly bob, without cutting my hair. More importantly it is a protective style, because my ends do not come in contact with my clothing. I absolutely love this style and love accessorizing it with silk scarves and floral barrettes!
Instructions for protective styling – roller-set with tight curl
-Shampoo and condition hair
-Towel Dry (not too much though, your hair should be soaked when roller-setting)
-Apply a leave in conditioner
-Start rolling your hair
-Have a spray bottle of water handy in case your hair starts to dry out in the midst of roller-setting
-Sit under a hooded dryer or allow hair to air dry
Tip: For the curly look or tighter curls use small rollers, for a soft wavy or looser curl look use bigger rollers.
