Hollywood Hair: How to Get Taraji P. Henson’s Hair Style

Taraji’s Beautiful Bob Hair Style: Great Style for Fine Hair

taraji-bob-style1 taraji-bob-style-2

Taraji is one of the most talented and most beautiful actresses in Hollywood. I had the opportunity to catch her in an interview on TV One and she has such a great spirit and personality. Not only that, but her hair cut is banging!!! I absolutely love Taraji’s acting skills and her short bob style! She sported that new style at the 2009 Oscars and it looked fabulous! I think it’s a perfect style for ladies with fine hair! The asymmetrical, layered bob adds shape, accentuates the face, provides volume and is a chic and sexy look!

Taraji’s stylist Dante Blandshaw follows five steps for providing the straight sleek version of this style. He uses Aveda hair care products, which I absolutely love and have been using for 3 years!

1.) Dante starts off with Aveda’s Damage Control to ensure protection from breakage and thermal damage. This also serves to soften the hair texture.

2.) Blow-dry the hair using a paddle brush and also add a dime-sized amount of Aveda Universal Styling Crème for providing more shine.

3.) First flat iron, then use 1.5-inch and two-inch barrel irons to provide volume at the roots and slightly bend at the ends. Be careful not to curl the hair too much.

4.) For added height and fullness, curl the front slightly to create a soft side swept bang.

5.) Add the finishing touches by combing with a wide-tooth comb and use Aveda Air Control (lightweight hair spray) to lock in the style.
With the right products and right techniques and product tools, you can have celebrity hair like Taraji P. Henson!

Note: If you have been following this blog you know that I am an advocate for limiting the amount of direct heat applied to hair. For those occasions that you may blow dry your hair the key is to use some form of protection (Aveda Damage Control, ionic blow dryers, and wide-tooth combs, etc.) from the products to the tools that you use.
